Roxy the Racoon is a beautifully illustrated book that will encourage young children to learn and talk about disability and inclusion. The colourful woodland characters find ways to make sure their friend Roxy can be included in all their activities. The central message that everything we do is so much better when everyone can be included is clearly and engagingly conveyed. I would recommend this book to anyone working with young children to support their positive thinking and learning about the many way to include all our friends in all of our activities.
Healthy Books
The moral of this well-constructed tale is that solutions to problems will always be possible if people work together and are willing to try. Wonderfully colourful and interesting, and there are notes for teachers and parents at the end.
